Children’s Home Registered Manager
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Location: Melbourne, Derbyshire
Working hours: 40-hour week, 9-5 on average. 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
Main Responsibilities
1. Manage the daily running of the children’s home(s) in line with company policy and regulatory requirements. Supervise, support, guide, and lead staff.
2. Model best practice approaches during challenging behaviors, ensuring high levels of coherent and consistent care.
3. Register as a Manager with OFSTED and work as part of the senior management team for the best interests of young people, staff, and the company.
4. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Experience
1. Experience working with children with learning disabilities, complex needs, or mental health issues.
2. Recent experience working in a residential care setting for at least 2 years.
3. Care management/supervision experience for 2 years.
4. Experience supporting staff through debriefs for challenging behaviors.
5. Experience in staff supervision and managing complaints.
6. Ability to follow training and development plans for the home and oneself.
7. Knowledge of Ofsted 9 Quality Standards for supported accommodation.
8. Willingness to undergo OFSTED registration and experience with OFSTED inspections.
9. Experience advocating for and engaging with young people's decision-making processes.
10. Experience leading meetings and setting agendas.
Qualifications
1. Relevant management qualification, such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
2. Relevant social care qualification, such as NVQ Level 5 or equivalent.
3. Willingness to pursue further relevant qualifications and training.
4. Up-to-date safeguarding training.
5. DBS check on the update service.
6. Relevant NVQ Level 3 Diploma or equivalent.
7. Pass registration with OFSTED.
