Fixed Term for 12 months
An opportunity has arisen for an individual looking for a challenging and rewarding role working within quality improvement, attached to Person Centred Care work.
The role will be positioned to support delivery of improvements in systems of care in Tayside, as well as delivering training and education in quality improvement. The role presents an opportunity to work with many local teams and individuals, to help improve care in a crucial part of our service, and to link with others doing similar roles across Scotland.
The post sits within NHS Tayside Improvement Team which provides applied quality improvement support, consultancy, training and education within NHS Tayside around systems thinking and the application of quality improvement methodology.
The post holder will be instrumental in mobilising quality improvement and service design expertise to empower and enable teams to improve the outcome experience, efficiency, effectiveness and value of care. The role will involve working with clinicians, staff, patients, carers and colleagues in clinical settings to deliver high quality improved services across Tayside.
The role will include the opportunity to influence and be involved directly in the delivery of an educational curriculum for quality improvement. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop organisational capability in quality improvement across a variety of levels of aptitude.
The post holder will be committed and flexible individual who are used to working semi-autonomously, are comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, and able to work to tight deadlines. The post holder will have established improvement skills and excellent interpersonal skills to coach individuals and teams in their quality improvement efforts. The post holder will be comfortable collecting and analysing data for improvement with minimal supervision, and will be able to produce clear high quality written reports.
Candidates will be considered who hold a first degree in a relevant discipline and either a formal professional qualification or equivalent experience in the field of quality improvement. Ideally applicants will have experience of applying quality improvement techniques within a healthcare setting.
Internal - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
Hours of work are: Mon – Fri, 37hours per week.
