About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (5-7 years industry experience) to join a well-established, international multidisciplinary consultancy in their Cambridge office. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems
• Develop mechanical design concepts and detailed solutions across multiple sectors
• Prepare and manage calculations, models, drawings, specifications, and reports
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Support sustainable and low-carbon design strategies
• Contribute to design reviews and technical approvals
Key Requirements:
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Strong experience within the building services industry
• Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion
• Experience working on mission critical, public, or private sector projects
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary design teams
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards
• Understanding of sustainable and low-carbon design principles
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, delivery-focused mindset
