Community Ambassador Volunteer
Basis: A couple of hours a week
Section: Volunteer support
Reporting to: Partnerships and Outreach Coordinator
Location: Various locations, including our Hub in The Glades, Bromley; some remote working at suitable locations.
Responsible for: Encouraging greener living within your community and promoting Greener and Cleaner as a source of advice and inspiration.
DBS Check: Some volunteer duties may require a DBS check.
About the role
Greener and Cleaner are seeking volunteers to serve as Community Ambassadors to promote greener living and serve as sources of advice and inspiration. We are particularly interested in individuals with skills in:
* Customer-facing roles
* Outreach work
* Fundraising
What will you be doing?
We aim to create a supportive, judgment-free, and engaging experience for visitors in our Hub, and we want to extend this experience to wider community activities across Bromley and beyond.
Your role will involve connecting with the community, promoting Greener and Cleaner, organizing activities, and sharing content on social media.

Who are we looking for?
Someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys approaching and meeting new people. Ideally, you have experience in:
* Customer-facing roles
* Outreach work
* Fundraising
You should be comfortable working in diverse community settings. We are a friendly, supportive team, mostly composed of part-time volunteers, and we warmly welcome new members.
You must be over 18.
Training will be provided, and a willingness to learn about climate change, sustainability, biodiversity, air quality, and active travel is beneficial.
Experience with social media and knowledge of local activities and organizations are advantageous but not essential.
What difference will you make?
You will be part of our pilot project, which, if successful, will lead to the deployment of similar hubs across the UK, providing a blueprint for others to follow and expand.
This role focuses on engagement and encouragement—helping people realize that their actions matter. Attending events and acquiring new skills contribute to small, everyday changes that combat climate change. Your role will be key to shaping the remote experience of Greener and Cleaner.
