The Board of Electors to the Kennedy Professorship of Latin invites applications from persons whose work falls within the general field of Latin literature. The appointment is expected to commence on 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates should have an outstanding research record of international stature in Latin literature, with the vision, leadership, experience, and enthusiasm to build on current strengths and develop a leading research presence. The Kennedy Professorship is one of the world's most prestigious Latin professorships. The holder will take a leading role in advancing research and pedagogy in Latin Studies at Cambridge and promote the field of Classics within the UK and internationally. A PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification is required.
Standard duties include teaching, research, examining, supervision, and administration. The position is based in Cambridge, and a competitive salary will be offered.
