Role: Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Salford, Manchester
Contract: Permanent | Full Time | 40 hours per week
Salary: £12.69–£13.31 per hour plus £30 per sleep in
What You’ll Do
* Support young people aged 8–18 with their daily routines, including getting them ready for school, meals, and planning activities.
* Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
* Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
* Plan and participate in activities such as trips to the park, movie nights, and creative projects.
* Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It
The home is a dual residence where two children can live, with two staff on shift each day. It is a detached home with large front and back gardens and nearby parks. The home is currently closed with plans to recruit a full staff team before opening to referrals, creating an opportunity to shape the home from the ground up. Existing team members work in other homes to gain experience and will come together when the full team is formed. Staff support each other and work to support young people through activities, holidays, and addressing needs such as personal hygiene and health appointments. The role emphasizes being a positive role model.
Shift Pattern
Typically a 24-hour shift starting and finishing at 10:00, including an overnight sleep, followed by two days off. Approximately 10 or 11 shifts per month.
