An exciting opportunity to join Cyril Evans ward at Morriston Hospital which is a 25 bedded ward which provides nursing care to cardiology patients awaiting cardiology interventions, and nursing patients pre and post cardiology procedures. This an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with existing or promising strong clinical and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be committed to delivering high quality care and can work well as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the individualised care of patients on their elective/inhouse cardiology pathway. To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing practice whilst co-ordinating and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team. To assist with support and supervision of students and junior members of the team. To supervise and co-ordinate other staff as appropriate and take charge of the ward. To demonstrate leadership and deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.

Qualifications and skills
Essential criteria
1. NMC registered Nurse & current NMC Registration Bachelor’s Degree
2. Proficient level of knowledge in clinical speciality Knowledge of service improvement.
3. Provide supervisory management and leadership skills in a clinical environment which is complex and pressurised.
4. To demonstrate leadership and deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.
5. Ability to work under pressure
6. Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others using good communication skills.
7. Work alongside the nursing team members, providing support to junior colleagues in the provision of direct care.
8. Experience of formal /informal teaching and of mentoring preregistration nursing or midwifery students.

9. Relevant experience within speciality and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant speciality
