Description
Great opportunity to join an expanding team with excellent growth prospects, with a salary up to £70k plus bonus.
We are working exclusively with a B2B Service Sector, Facilities Management, and Fire company that is on an exciting growth journey, both organically and through acquisition. An interesting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full-time Head of Finance / Financial Manager based in North Kent, required on-site 5 days a week. The role involves managing the central finance operation, consolidating reporting, and reporting to the Board monthly. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional to provide finance, accounting, and some commercial support across the organization. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will lead a small finance team and ensure the smooth operation of the finance function during this crucial growth period.
Key duties will include:
* Ensuring the finance function operates efficiently across the team
* Implementing effective financial and operational controls and processes
* Producing timely, accurate financial reports, management accounts, and analysis
* Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
* Business modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Financial analysis to highlight variances, risks, and opportunities
* Managing daily, weekly, and monthly transactions
* Monitoring cash flow and internal reports
* Supporting budget owners and commercial teams to meet targets
* Leading statutory audits and preparing quarterly VAT returns
* Suggesting updates and improvements to accounting systems
* Ensuring proper recording, filing, and reporting of transactions
* Acting as the key contact for external auditors and VAT submissions
* Creating systems to prevent data errors
* Managing the current finance team of four
About you:
* ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified with 3-5 years PQE
* Experience in a similar role within a B2B environment
* Ability to translate financial data into management insights
* Proven team management and development skills
* Knowledge of corporate finance and group accounting
* Technical skills including systems improvement and implementation
* Good understanding of UK VAT and HMRC dealings
* Ambitious, proactive, flexible, well-organized
* Excellent communication skills, able to work under pressure
* Results-driven, with some exposure to M&A and European operations setup
* Willing to engage in wider business activities and adapt to changing priorities
* Open to undertaking junior tasks as needed
