An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Company Secretary to join our Legal Team.

As the Assistant Company Secretary, you will be responsible for assisting the Company Secretary in ensuring compliance with specified legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting with the preparation of the statutory accounts and the related narrative reports for Group companies.
* Incorporating new companies and dealing with post incorporation matters as required.
* Providing reports and statutory information on request.
* Annual compliance checks to ensure compliance with statutory requirements including anti-corruption statement, modern slavery statement and trading disclosures.
* Responsibility for compliance with the Group’s reporting and notification requirements under the bond trust deeds, including communication with the trustees.
* Preference share management including stock exchange announcements.
* Maintaining statutory records for the Group using company secretarial software packages.
* Filling statutory forms and returns at Companies House.
* Ensuring compliance with consumer credit law and Financial Conduct Authority rules.
Key Competencies:
* Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise work efficiently.
* Experience of drafting legal and/or regulatory reports to deadlines.
* Able to understand complex legal and regulatory information.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Resilient and resourceful.
* Able to work on own initiative as part of a small team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Member of the Chartered Governance Institute or studying for the qualification.
* At least 3 years’ experience of company secretarial work.
* Qualified to degree level.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
* Knowledge of consumer credit legislation and Financial Conduct Authority rules.
