Welder/Fabricator Redwood Materials is looking for a Welder with fabrication experience to support the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teams with the development, fabrication, and installation of prototype and custom equipment. Responsibilities will include: TIG and/or MIG welding of mild and stainless steel Interpret welding procedures and specifications. Prepare material using cutting/burning and grinding equipment. Manufacture using detailed drawings. Inspect and test welds for durability as well as meeting specified standards. Complete reports, RAMS, job sheets in a clear and concise manner. Detail welding procedures, programmes and work methods. Fabricate and assemble new equipment from prototypes to production. Support installation and commissioning of new equipment. Setting up and using metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, saws, brakes, and shears. Working directly with design engineers to turn ideas into working prototypes. Desired Qualifications: 2-3 years previous experience within a welding role. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints. Strong mechanical aptitude with a background in custom fabrication. Hands-on and detailed oriented approach to problem solving. Metal fabrication and machine shop experience. Good computer skills; MS Office, etc. Proficient with the use of forklifts and other PIT equipment. Welding experience (GMAW/GTAW/FCAW) with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys. Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects. The position is full-time and located in Normanton, West Yorkshire, WF6 1QT, UK. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
