Overview

Doctor Care Anywhere is the UK’s largest private provider of telehealth services, working with insurers, healthcare providers, and corporate customers to provide healthcare services to more than 2 million patients every year. We are looking for Digital Healthcare ACPs able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours a week to provide virtual consultations via our intuitive platform, delivering high quality care to our patients.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide virtual consultations on the digital platform, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients within your scope of practice.
* Act responsibly at all times, maintaining accountability for decisions and actions in line with organisational policy.
* Make active judgment to seek support from senior colleagues when necessary.
* Work against the four pillars of advanced practice and ACP standards.
* Deliver high quality care, including accurate and timely documentation of consultations.
* Engage in ongoing learning and peer development through training, supervision, and clinical meetings.
* Participate in quality improvement, research, audit and appraisal activities to maintain professional standards.
* Support safeguarding protocols for adults, young persons, and vulnerable adults.


Session Details and Compensation

We offer fixed shifts and sessions (minimum of 16 hours a week) that can be divided throughout the week based on your preferred hours, along with optional additional ad‑hoc shifts.

* Weekday Daytime (8am‑6pm)
* Weekday Evening (6pm‑10pm)
* Weekend / Bank Holiday

Salary (annual, based on 40 hours weekday/daytime FTE): £60,169.30

* Weekday Daytime: £6,016.93
* Weekday Evening: £6,618.63
* Weekend / Bank Holiday: £7,281.51

Hourly rate:

* Weekday Daytime: £28.93
* Weekday Evening: £31.82
* Weekend / Bank Holiday: £35.01


Qualifications & Requirements

Training / Qualifications

* Relevant registration with a professional body (NMC, HCPC, GPhC)
* Postgraduate diploma (Level 7) or Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or RCN Credentialling or HEE accreditation
* Valid IR(ME)R certificate valid within the last 3 years
* The Fit Note (FIT) training certificate
* Independent prescribing qualification
* Minor illness training qualification (desirable)

Experience

* Minimum 2 years experience as ACP independently prescribing (post ACP qualification) in Primary Care within the last 5 years
* Broad autonomous scope of practice developed in a general practice setting per the Core Capabilities framework

Knowledge and Skills

* Up‑to‑date knowledge of national prescribing policies and guidelines
* Knowledge of clinical governance principles for remote working and digital healthcare (desirable)
* Proficiency with clinical IT systems (ideally Jira and Teams/Slack)
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines
* Commitment to patient‑centred care and ongoing professional development
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in documenting patient consultations
* Ability to recognise learning needs and seek professional development opportunities (e.g., NMC revalidation requirements)
* Professional role modelling and evidence‑based knowledge sharing (desirable)
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (desirable)
* Patient‑centred approach ensuring high patient satisfaction and clinical care


Clinical Responsibilities Within the DCA ACP Scope of Practice

* Conduct comprehensive remote patient assessments, establish accurate diagnoses, develop treatment plans remotely.
* Build rapport through effective communication, emotional intelligence, and positive patient experience.
* Prescribe responsibly following the Royal Pharmaceutical Society competency framework.
* Maintain professional standards per NMC/HCPC code of conduct.
* Recognise limits, manage risk, and escalated when necessary.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation within patient health records.


Education and Leadership Responsibilities

* Engage in ongoing learning through training, supervision, and professional development.
* Facilitate peer development by delivering learning activities.
* Prioritise effective workload management with strong time‑management skills.
* Champion best practices and uphold the organisation's professional image.
* Fulfil NMC/HCPC revalidation requirements for continued practice.


Research / Clinical Governance Responsibilities

* Support quality improvement through participation in quality assurance initiatives.
* Use feedback and incident reporting for continuous improvement.
* Critically evaluate research, audit, and evaluation findings to inform practice.
* Engage in regular appraisals and performance reviews.


Safeguarding

* Promote a culture of patient‑centred professional practice with safeguarding of adults, young people, and children at risk.
* Implement safeguarding protocols and know escalation processes.
* Apply mental health legislation, coding practice requirements, and national guidance appropriately.
