CNC Machinist – Havant, UK.
Responsibilities
* Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
* Work in a safe manner in line with the company’s Health and Safety policy
* Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S
* Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards
* Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines
* Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set
* Help with skills flex training and cross‑train others when required
Qualifications
* GCSE/O Level or equivalent.
* Apprentice served.
* 5 years (min) engineering experience within the manufacturing industry (apprentice trained).
* 5 years (min) CNC machining experience.
* Milling and turning experience preferred.
* CI experience (Lean 8 wastes). Safety/5S work ethic.
* Computer literate (Microsoft).
* Experience working in an engineering environment.
* Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code)/Mazatrol.
* Offline programming experience Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol – advantageous.
* Ideally Apprentice served.
* Understanding of turning and milling techniques.
* Ability to problem‑solve.
* Understand health & safety environment/procedures. Read and understand engineering drawings.
* Good communicator with all levels of business (written & verbal). Hands‑on approach with a strong work ethic.
