Job Title: Assistant Category Manager
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Location: Oxford (2 office-based days a week) relocating to Aylesbury in 2026
Contract type: 12-month FTC, full time
Responsibilities:
* Assist Category Managers with obtaining documentation to undertake evaluations and contract negotiations
* Work alongside Category Managers to help manage supplier performance effectively
* Provide assistance to internal stakeholders, addressing procurement queries and ensuring policy compliance
* Support with occasional project work
What we are looking for:
* Demonstrable experience of key procurement activities including supplier selection processes
* Awareness of supply risks and supply risk management
* Commercial acumen related to purchasing and costing including some knowledge of commercial contracts
* Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* High levels of self-organisation and good attention to detail
* A full UK driving licence and access to own transport
