As the Head of Geography, you will be responsible for leading the geography department, developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the department and inspiring students to develop a lifelong love for geography.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual with strong leadership and management skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering outstanding results and will be dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Geography teachers, providing guidance and support for their professional development
* Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging geography curriculum
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department
* Build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment
* Manage department resources and budget effectively
* Stay updated with the latest developments in geography education
* A degree in Geography or a related field
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
* Proven experience as a Geography teacher, with a track record of delivering exceptional results
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
* Excellent knowledge of the geography curriculum and assessment requirements
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to continuous professional development
* Experience in a leadership role in a school setting would be advantageous
