Parenting programme coordinator

Cardiff
Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council
Coordinator
Posted: 22h ago
Offer description

Cardiff Parenting Services are part of Cardiff Early Help. Cardiff Parenting Services are strategically led by a Senior Educational Psychologist and include teams that deliver group and individual parenting programmes and interventions, across the whole of Cardiff. We work in community settings, family homes and in accommodation such as hostels. We have office bases across Cardiff, and also have equipment for home-working.

This is what service users accessing our programmes say "Using the methods I have learnt on the Parent Nurturing Programme has impacted on us as a family massively. The family home is a lot calmer and more positive. There are hardly any arguments or shouting…I've struggled in the past with my son’s challenging behaviour, so to see the changes so quickly I feel has made me less stressed, I feel more energetic, and my well-being has improved loads!"

You can learn more about elements of Early Help by visiting the website www.cardifffamilies.co.uk.

About the job

The Parenting Programme Coordinator post is a specialist role that requires qualification and experience in a menu of programmes (please see the essential requirements on the attached Job description and personal specification). Coordinators are responsible for the quality, fidelity and delivery of formal manualised parenting intervention across Cardiff Flying Start areas. This includes identifying venues in the heart of communities and creating multi-disciplinary teams from the wealth of experience across Cardiff Early Help. Coordinators provide weekly supervision, support and guidance for facilitators and families as they progress through their programme journey.

Coordinators listen and actively work in partnership with families to break down the barriers to engagement: coordinating (for example) creche provision, interpreter services and many other solution-based actions.

Coordinators are trained trainers and are required to train staff across Early Help and Flying Start Childcare settings. They are also qualified assessors, supporting families through accredited programmes with the help of our in-house Accredited Centre.

A key part of the coordinator role is monitoring and evaluating (the service), making improvements, and working with license holders to ensure the most up do date information for service users. Collecting and collating data that can be provided to funders and stakeholders, evidencing positive outcomes and meeting service targets.
