Business Development Manager
Location: Oldbury based covering the Midlands, North UK & International Travel involved from time to time
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
Opportunity
This is an exciting, field-based role focused on driving new business growth across the Midlands and the North of the UK, with the added opportunity to expand into international markets. Working Hours
Monday – Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, target, and secure new customers across sectors including industrial manufacturing, defence, insulation, packaging.
* Proactively generate leads through cold outreach, prospecting, networking and industry events.
* Conduct site visits and relationship building.
* Build and manage a strong, self-generated sales pipeline.
* Conduct face-to-face client meetings and present tailored solutions.
* Convert opportunities into long-term, profitable partnerships.
* Develop and execute a strategic territory plan and drive international growth via export sales, distributors and OEM partnerships.
* Prepare quotations, proposals, and pricing strategies; negotiate contracts while protecting margins.
* Work collaboratively with operations, production, and technical teams.
* Track and report on sales performance and pipeline activity.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven success in business development within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
* Strong track record of winning new business and increasing revenue.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial acumen.
* Experience in technical or solution-based sales (desirable).
* Exposure to foam, plastics, materials, or conversion industries (advantageous).
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role; full UK driving licence.
* Flexibility for UK and international travel.
