Contract: Term-time only
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday – Friday

About the school…
It is a purpose-built SEND school serving children aged 2 to 19. Their students often have complex and multiple learning disabilities, speech, language & communication needs, and physical or sensory requirements.

Role: Autism Support Worker
In this role, you will work closely with the Class Teacher and the wider team to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and day‑to‑day needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow all school policies and procedures
* Assist with feeding, personal care, and hygiene support as required
* Support the Class Teacher in delivering lessons — adapt tasks, maintain pupil engagement, scaffold learning
* Support behaviour management in line with school approaches
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, enabling them to express themselves
* Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Essential Criteria (Non‑Negotiables)
* Recent, relevant experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities — in educational or care settings
* Comfortable providing personal care (e.g. feeding, hygiene)
* Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent under pressure
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
* A caring, flexible and resilient approach
