Job Description:

The Front End Projects Delivery (FEPD) Senior Manager provides leadership and oversight to a portfolio of Regions and projects delivered through a team of FEPD Advisors based in Sunbury. Lead the team to ensure progress and delivery against project, regional and functional objectives across FEL1 through FEL2B.

The FEPD team work with the business to support and develop supply chain solutions, relationships, opportunities and contacting and procurement strategies that support safe, competitive and predictable project delivery through Concept Development and Optimise (FEL2A&B), in readiness for handover to the Operating Base and onwards FEL3 and Execute delivery.

Activities also include delivery of project support materials and the procurement input to project reviews, verification and assurance stage gates as set out in OneProcess, sourcing and contracting of goods and services in support of FEL2. Overall accountability for project delivery and readiness, ensuring that team members and projects are actively coordinating and engaging with relevant Category Teams. To apply lessons learnt and best practices from other projects, ensuring compliance with regional and regulatory requirements and working with the Regional Operating Bases in preparation for project and associated resource MOC.

In addition to the project delivery remit, the role includes the procurement oversight and assurance of supply chain activities (strategy and contracting) associated with bp's Trading and Shipping team for their front end project related activities.

Representing procurement in project leadership teams, and may also participate in external engagements ensuring thorough documentation is in place to support cost recovery and assurance.


Skills & Experience

A strategic problem solver who leads and influences teams in developing creative solutions to tackle business challenges through the lifecycle of the project for which their team is responsible. They cultivate partnerships; have high commercial acumen ensuring project and category alignment with project goals and delivering secure optimal, compliant, and competitive, risk-managed procurement outcomes. Working with peers to share best practice making procurement more efficient and effective.

A forward thinking leader, adept at change management, who builds high performing teams through displaying emotional understanding and fostering resilience.

* Functional knowledge: Must have access to and be knowledgeable on business context, strategic direction, priorities, partners, systems and key strategies. They lead and integrate a diverse team.
* Business expertise: Projects execution experience. A deep understanding of the regions projects and their objectives.
* Leadership: Extensive leadership experience, ideally in a procurement projects organization
* Role model shaping work delivery, decision making and partnering with stakeholders
* Problem solving: Demonstrable conceptual thinking, to develop strategic options and mitigations and to lead their teams in developing and executing innovative solutions.
* Interpersonal skills: Exceptional people skills to lead their teams, while engaging with global, diverse senior colleagues, partnering with the Projects leadership and the broader procurement function to develop and evaluate project execution options.
