Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
This role is suitable for someone with previous experience teaching English. The successful candidate will advise and assess students, prepare course materials aligned with the college’s learning strategy, and participate in training and meetings as required. An academic background in English is preferred, along with a recognised teaching qualification (Level 5 or above). Candidates willing to work towards obtaining this qualification will also be considered.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To qualify for the Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), applicants must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
* DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* Certificate in Education
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
* DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
* DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – for vocational subjects
Applicants without these qualifications will fall into the Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).
Note: Qualifications such as PTLLS, CTLLS, or CELTA are not accepted as standalone qualifications.
