Our Special Needs School for children with disabilities is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant, either ASAP or in September. This role is ideal for recent graduates aiming to work with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges. The school is located just outside Chippenham.
In this role, you will support children aged 3 to 18 with various additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and physical disabilities. Working with a diverse range of ages and abilities will provide you with comprehensive experience in catering to each child's unique needs and tailoring your approach in the classroom.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both emotionally and academically. You will assist them with their education in subjects like Maths and English, and help equip them with essential life skills such as social interaction, interpersonal skills, and independent living. The school employs a unique approach to learning, incorporating lessons in art, music, cooking, and outdoor education.
This position is perfect for recent university graduates, especially those with degrees in Psychology or Criminology, as you can apply your academic knowledge in practical classroom scenarios. Most importantly, this experience will be valuable if you wish to pursue careers as a Psychologist, Counsellor, Therapist, or Teacher in the future.
