Job overview

The post holder will be required to deliver an advanced level of clinical practice within the Sarcoma service. Working within local and nationally agreed protocols and guidelines, the ACP exercises independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implementandevaluatetheclinicalcareandmanagement of patientswhich willinclude referring patientsto an appropriate specialist.

The post holder will act as a clinical leader within the Sarcoma service, supporting the provision of clinical expertise that is evidence based. They will play an active part in audit, research and the development of local multidisciplinary guidelines and protocols, incorporating current best evidence in consultation with other healthcare professionalsfor the Department. The post holder will promote the concept of clinical governance and facilitate the implementation of the Trust’s Clinical Strategy in relation to their post and work within agreed Trust/Unit protocols and guidelines.

1. Relevant clinical experience, including specialist skills and training.
2. Experience of running own clinics
3. Experience of running own clinics

4. Prescribing and assessment skills
5. Patient and stakeholder engagement.

6. Advanced clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning and decision making.
7. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Ability to identify and implement new systems and ways of working and demonstrate their value.
9. Able to provide consultancy skills to nurses and other professionals.
10. Up to date knowledge of policies and strategy.
11. Able to appraise research and audit.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

12. First level degree (HEI level 5 or 6) in nursing, midwifery, equivalent AHP or pharmacy.
13. Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable post graduate level working evidenced via a continuous professional development portfolio
14. Relevant specialist post basic programme to Master’s Level or equivalent
15. HEI level 7 Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice or above
