Maintenance Assistant / Handyman (School)
Location: Hook, Hampshire
Contract: 3 months
Salary: £16.50 paye or £21.50 Umbrella

What You'll Do
Day-to-day repairs across the site: basic plumbing (e.g., leaks, taps, toilets), minor electrics (e.g., lamp/plug changes), carpentry, painting & decorating.
Planned maintenance: routine checks, defect reporting, preventative tasks, and record keeping.
Health & Safety first: follow risk assessments, COSHH, work-at-height guidance, lock-out/tag-out where required.
Customer service: respond quickly to tickets, communicate updates, and keep stakeholders informed.
Events & operations: room set-ups, furniture moves, basic grounds support.
Contractor liaison: support specialist visits, ensure permits and safe systems of work are in place.What You'll Need
Proven experience in a maintenance/handyman or caretaking role (school, residential block, facilities, hospitality, or similar).
Practical skills in basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and minor electrics.
Confident using tools, ladders, and mobile work order systems (training provided).
Strong problem-solving, time management, and pride in a job well done.
A team player who's equally comfortable working independently.
Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for urgent issues or events.Nice to Have (Training Provided if Needed)
