Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Facilities Team conducts facilities and property administration, office planning, corporate leasing, and/or real estate coordination. They work closely with and provide advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives, coordinating major facility constructions or modifications, leasing, and real estate activities.
Lead and carry out a wide range of assignments to maintain & improve the efficiency, quality, safety, and performance of site facilities, including onsite facility maintenance and management of external contractor safety & services. Create supporting facilities safety documentation, reporting, and provide training to ensure safe and successful facility implementations.
Provide day-to-day facilities & safety site support for teammates, check and plan maintenance programs, manage contractors, achieve environment cost savings, safety improvements, support site with local deliveries of components, stocks, or sundries.
Assist with safety and environmental improvements on site while providing technical support for troubleshooting facility problems. Provide timely and efficient solutions for all areas of the site.
Tasks Summary and Responsibilities:
* Main responsibility is the planning, management & reporting of all site facilities maintenance, property inventory, and security support, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Develop efficient and effective facilities programs for the plant, defining parameters and processes for improvements while ensuring safety standards are met.
* Provide advice and training to the site on improvements, initiatives, and proposals.
* Review and monitor contractor services, plan external maintenance, and manage related documentation (risk assessments, certifications, high-risk task reviews, pre-job planning).
* Use facilities expertise to define, document, and promote safe practices, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high quality.
* Participate in the safety committee and collaborate with production to meet KPIs, attending daily meetings and providing facilities support.
* Support stores & dispatch teams to meet their KPIs by attending meetings and assisting with component or delivery challenges.
* Manage infrastructure changes, project activities with internal and external teams/contractors.
* Ensure accurate cost capture and budget management for facilities.
* Investigate and initiate environmental improvement and cost-saving projects.
* Collaborate with the Safety & Environmental teams on facilities work.
* Support the roll-out of TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, Centers of Excellence (COE), and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP).
* Keep the site informed of technical developments and review operational methods.
* Observe and comply with health and safety regulations as per company procedures and legislation.
* Perform other tasks as directed by the business.
Knowledge & Skills:
Education: City & Guilds, HNC, linked Safety IOSH, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance Engineering
Experience:
* Maintenance & Safety Management in a manufacturing setting
* Practical knowledge of using hand tools, maintenance processes, and related skills
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
* Compliance with safety standards in manufacturing
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility issues
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 software
* Experience maintaining factory safety & facilities (electrical, plumbing, fixtures, fittings)
* Effective contractor management with documented procedures and communication
* Ability to suggest improvements for facilities processes and technical developments
* Initiative to troubleshoot problems as they arise
* Continuous improvement mindset for infrastructure, buildings, and services
* Drive and passion for results in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work independently and creatively
* Valid full driving license
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
* Experience with SAP or Sage systems
* Project management skills for facility projects
* Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles used in UK factories
