Offer description

This is a critical, delivery-focused role accountable for translating business demand into delivery-ready solutions, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritised, and executed with pace.

The role exists to ensure the business has efficient, low-friction delivery pipelines, where unnecessary admin is reduced, meetings are minimised, and work flows cleanly from idea through to completion—while maintaining appropriate coordination, consistency, and clear communication of delivered features.

Core Expectations

. Own and Drive Solution Readiness

1. Act as the single accountable owner for solution shaping prior to delivery
2. Translate business demand into clear, structured, delivery-ready work
3. Define the most efficient and least complex approach with relevant teams
4. Ensure all work entering delivery is understood and actionable

This role ensures teams start with clarity, not rework or back-and-forth
________________________________________

. Own Backlog Quality, Structure & Flow

5. Maintain a high-quality, well-structured backlog

Ensure:

6. Tickets are clear, concise, and complete
7. No duplication or unnecessary detail
8. Work is prioritised and actionable
9. Drive consistency in backlog standards across squads

A cluttered or inconsistent backlog creates admin and confusion—it is actively managed and standardised
________________________________________

. Apply the Right Level of Definition (Avoid Over-Specification)

10. Define work to the appropriate level of detail based on complexity
11. In some cases, keep tickets succinct to allow engineer creativity and ownership
12. Agree the level of detail with the relevant delivery team
13. Avoid over-specification that slows delivery or limits better technical solutions

Clarity is required - but over-engineering requirements is avoided
________________________________________

. Eliminate Unnecessary Admin (Not All Admin)

14. Remove the need for:
15. Repeated clarification
16. Rework due to poor requirements
17. Duplicate data entry or tracking

________________________________________

. Reduce Meeting Dependency

21. Ensure work is clear enough to avoid unnecessary meetings

Replace meetings with:

22. Well-written tickets
23. Clear acceptance criteria
24. Structured updates

Engage in meetings where:

25. Decisions are required
26. Blockers need resolving
27. Coordination across squads where applicable

Meetings are for decisions and coordination—not clarification
________________________________________

. Own Prioritisation from a Delivery Perspective
• Prioritise work based on:
o Business impact
o Delivery feasibility
o Dependencies and sequencing
• Balance demand with team capacity
• Ensure focus on high-value work only

This role ensures effort is spent on what matters most
________________________________________

. Own the Flow of Work End-to-End

28. Own work from idea through to delivery completion

Ensure:

29. Work progresses without delay
30. Dependencies are managed
31. Blockers are removed quickly

Coordinate across squads where required to maintain flow

Nothing should stall, drift, or break across team boundaries
________________________________________

. Drive Delivery with Pace & Control

32. Maintain momentum across all delivery activity

Ensure:

33. Weekly progress is visible
34. Delivery commitments are met
35. Risks are addressed early

Follow through until delivery is complete

This role drives outcomes, not process for process' sake
________________________________________

. Track Outcomes & Support Value Realisation

36. Track delivery outcomes post-release

Work with:

37. IT Business Partner
38. Change Manager

Ensure solutions:

39. Are used effectively
40. Deliver expected value

Delivery is not complete until value is realised
________________________________________

. Communicate Delivered Features Effectively

41. When necessary, support communication of features to relevant stakeholders

Ensure communication is:

42. Clear
43. Concise
44. Targeted

Avoid over-communication or unnecessary forums

Communication is purposeful and outcome-focused
________________________________________

. Drive Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to:

45. Simplify processes
46. Remove inefficiencies
47. Reduce admin and friction
48. Gather feedback and feed improvements into the backlog

Every iteration should reduce effort and improve flow
________________________________________

. Leverage AI to Enhance Capability

Use AI to:

49. Improve requirement quality
50. Speed up documentation and structuring
51. Reduce manual effort
52. Embed AI into day-to-day workflow where it adds value

AI is used to increase quality and efficiency - not replace thinking
________________________________________

. Consistency & Work Ethic

53. Operate as a one-team member of the delivery function

Set the standard for:

54. Quality of work
55. Clarity of tickets
56. Efficiency of delivery
57. Punctuality, following process and communication

Demonstrate:

58. Strong ownership
59. Attention to detail
60. Consistency in approach

Drive alignment across squads

This role sets the bar - not follows it
