We are looking for two Property Asset Management Partners to join our Property & Strategic Assets team. One focused on Programmes and one on Transport.
The role is about making better use of public assets to deliver real outcomes for people and places. You’ll work across WMCA and partners to ensure land and property decisions support our Corporate Land and Property Strategy, wider organisational priorities, and the region’s long‑term ambitions.
As a trusted advisor and delivery partner, you’ll help services turn their needs into practical property solutions, drive value, support regeneration and enable change. You will lead and influence strategic property initiatives across your area, aligning property decisions with service priorities, community outcomes and regional goals. Working closely with directorates and partners you’ll support the development of asset strategies, lead reviews and feasibility work and help build a strong pipeline of projects. You’ll also play a key role in embedding a consistent Corporate Landlord approach across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the development and delivery of the Corporate Land and Property Strategy and associated policies
* Working with services to align property decisions with organisational priorities and outcomes
* Acting as the key property lead for your assigned area (Programmes or Transport)
* Leading asset reviews, feasibility studies, and business case development
* Identifying opportunities for regeneration, innovation, income generation and better use of assets
* Supporting asset challenge, rationalisation, repurposing and disposals
* Translating service needs into effective, deliverable property solutions
* Providing professional advice on property use, suitability and compliance
* Building strong relationships across WMCA and with external partners
* Coordinating input across multi‑disciplinary teams and projects
* Managing and improving property data, performance reporting and insight
* Ensuring compliance with legal, governance and financial frameworks
* Supporting financial planning, forecasting and cost analysis
* Promoting value for money in all property activity
Essential Qualifications
* Proven experience in strategic property or asset management
* Experience working in a public sector or complex stakeholder environment
* Experience leading projects and influencing senior stakeholders
* Experience supporting regeneration, partnership working or place‑based initiatives
* Strong understanding of property law, valuation and landlord & tenant matters
* Knowledge of asset management, portfolio performance and lifecycle costing
* Understanding of public sector governance, procurement and financial frameworks
* Ability to interpret policy, legislation and market trends to inform decisions
* Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills
* Experience using data and insight to drive performance and decision‑making
* Awareness of sustainability and net zero in property portfolios
* Confident working across teams and building effective relationships
* Strong report writing and presentation skills
* Degree in property, real estate, planning or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Location
16 Summer Lane with at least two days a week spent in the office.
