Content Designer - AI Specialist - Contract Outside IR35 - up to £500
I’m working with a business that is looking to bring in a Content Designer with strong AI expertise to help shape how content is created, structured, and delivered in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who sits at the intersection of content, UX, and AI, and wants to play a key role in building scalable, intelligent content systems that work seamlessly for both users and machines.
You’ll be working closely with engineering, product, data, and research teams, helping to design content that is both user-friendly and optimised for AI systems such as LLMs and search/retrieval models.
This is a full-stack content role, meaning you’ll be involved in both designing content experiences and managing content within CMS platforms.
What you’ll be doing
* Defining metadata, taxonomies, and schemas to support AI use cases such as search, retrieval, and generative systems
* Designing structured, modular content that can be reused, personalised, and scaled across platforms
* Creating content standards for AI-powered experiences (e.g. conversational interfaces, generative UX)
* Working with CMS teams to ensure content models are optimised for automation and machine readability
* Supporting initiatives focused on improving conversion through personalised content experiences
* Using AI and experimentation tools (e.g. A/B testing platforms) to drive data‑led decision making
* Exploring how AI can enhance targeting, segmentation, and user journeys
AI‑powered content creation
* Building and refining workflows that use AI tools to improve content production (writing, editing, localisation, etc.)
* Developing templates, frameworks, and reusable patterns for AI‑generated content
* Designing prompts and rules to ensure outputs are accurate, safe, and on‑brand
* Running experiments comparing human vs AI vs hybrid content approaches
* Defining quality standards across tone, accuracy, bias, and compliance
What they’re looking for
* Portfolio required – examples demonstrating how you’ve used AI to improve content outcomes
* Strong experience in Content Design, UX Writing, or Content Strategy (typically 7+ years)
* Hands‑on experience working with LLMs and AI tools in content workflows
* Experience creating structured content, templates, and prompt frameworks
* Background working on AI‑driven products (e.g. assistants, automation, generative tools)
* Experience with headless CMS and API‑led content systems
* Solid understanding of metadata, taxonomies, and structured content models
* Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including bias and safe content design
* Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across technical teams
Nice to have
* Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, or knowledge graphs
* Familiarity with prompt evaluation or model testing frameworks
* Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
