Job Title: Groundsworker
Pay: £15 per hour
Contract: Temp to Perm ...
Shifts: 42.5 hours 08:00-17:00
Location - Skelmerdale
Main Duties include:
1. Hard Landscaper, Paving, Fencing, Repairs, Gates, Pointing, minor brickwork
2. Undertake any training required to ensure that all aspects of the job are completed competently.
3. Participate in a team working approach towards the allocation of duties.
4. Experience in unblocking, relaying or renewing of pipework to drains, sewers and underground ducting.
5. Excavate footpaths, drives and playgrounds to appropriate depth, set out levels, lay sub base and kerbs, paving, concrete areas, block paving, tarmac etc. to set levels/contours. Construct walling and steps as required.
6. Set out and construct ramps for disabled access to properties.
7. Remove existing and replace concrete floors including finish to pre-existing levels.
Qualifications and Key Skills:
8. Ground working experience, preferably 3 years post experience in the construction industry.
9. Full UK driving licence.
10. Ability to work unsupervised and as a team member.
11. Ability to carry/erect/climb and regularly work on step ladders/ladders and scaffolding in accordance with safe systems of work.
12. Ability to understand and carry out verbal/written instructions.
13. Ability to liaise and work with clients and members of the public.
14. Ability to work in inclement weather.
15. Ability to travel between the depot and work locations.
