Job details
* Based at Eskmills (Musselburgh) with regular travel to customer sites across Scotland 2-3 days per week (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Borders, Highlands)
* 40 hours per week over 5 days, plus occasional evening/weekend work (flexibility required for business needs). Valid UK driving license and access to vehicle required.
* Salary: £39k salary + a bonus attached to hitting revenue & profit targets
Role outline
The Head of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving revenue growth and building the brand for Company Bakery Wholesale, a £3m+ artisan bakery serving 200+ wholesale partners across Scotland. This role owns the commercial strategy encompassing new customer acquisition, existing account development, geographic expansion, and brand positioning.
Leading a team of three (Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, Wholesale Account Manager), the Head of Sales & Marketing translates Company Bakery's story into commercial results, balancing our growth ambitions with the quality and service standards that define us.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring equal parts strategic thinking and tactical execution - setting the vision while actively supporting the team in winning and retaining customers.

Experience & Background
* 5+ years in sales and/or marketing management roles, ideally within food wholesale, FMCG, or B2B services
* Proven track record of delivering revenue growth targets (£2m-£10m range preferred)
* Experience managing and developing sales and marketing teams
* Demonstrated success in new business development and account management
* Background in food industry, artisan products, or quality-focused brands (highly desirable)
* Understanding of wholesale distribution models and multi-site customer management
* Strategic commercial thinking with strong tactical execution capability
* Excellent sales skills - able to lead pitches and close significant accounts
* Brand and marketing expertise across digital, content, and PR
* Data-driven decision making with strong analytical skills
* Budget management and financial acumen (P&L contribution understanding)
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills
* Project management capability - juggling multiple initiatives simultaneously
