Position overview:
We are seeking a Plant Electrician to join our Maintenance Team. This role is vital in supporting the plant's business objectives, including setting up new production lines, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
The shift pattern is 6 days on, 4 days off, with 8.5-hour shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
* Install and maintain high-speed industrial process equipment for can and end making, power, lighting, and PLC controls.
* Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair electrical equipment, components, transducers, and complex devices.
* Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
* Identify inefficiencies and electrical issues, coordinating with supervisors for resolution.
* Diagnose malfunctions and correct issues using programmable logic controls, enhancing line performance.
* Install and troubleshoot power distribution and lighting systems.
* Wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems neatly and according to specifications.
* Update wiring schematics and program printouts.
* Maintain necessary hand tools and adhere to SOPs and JBSs.
What are we looking for?
* Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing or industrial environment.
* City & Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3, HNC/HND qualifications, or equivalent.
* Effective communication skills and ability to train colleagues.
* Proficiency with hand/power tools and electronic testing equipment.
* Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, circuitry, motors, wiring diagrams, and digital devices.
* Fluent in English.
