Commercial Manager
A leading UK highways contractor is recruiting Commercial Managers for a major Kent-based term maintenance contract starting May 2026.
This 14-year (extendable to 21 years) framework is valued at £50–55m annually and represents one of the region’s largest highways maintenance programmes.
The Commercial Manager’s Role
You will lead the commercial function across defined business units within the Kent contract.
Responsibilities:
Full commercial ownership of workstreams
Leading QS teams across multiple depots
Governance and financial control
CVR and board-level reporting
Managing subcontractor strategy
Risk and opportunity management
Ensuring contract compliance (NEC)
Working closely with Business Unit Managers
This is a high-volume operational contract requiring strong leadership and commercial discipline.
The Commercial Manager
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
8+ years’ contractor experience
Proven NEC contract leadership
Highways or infrastructure background preferred
Experience leading commercial teams
Strong stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence
