Overview
These High Intensity trainee positions involve undertaking a PG Diploma in High Intensity CBT via University of Hertfordshire alongside clinical work within the Mid Essex service. Once qualified our High Intensity Therapists will be required to apply for/achieve accreditation with the BABCP.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
* Core profession requirement: Applicants must have a recorded/registered qualification in a core profession as recognised by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) at Graduate level (i.e. nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy) OR applicants to training who do not have a BABCP recognised core profession can enter via the KSA route, demonstrating that they have the knowledge, skills and attitudes required. * PWP without a core profession: If you are a PWP, you will need to have 2 years post qualification PWP experience by the time the course starts (06.10.2025) or equivalent experience in a core profession.
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services, including primary care, and experience of delivery of short term focused interventions.
* Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets.
* Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
* Ability to manage and plan own caseload & time.
* Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care.
* Demonstrates knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health.
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other mental health problems.
* Desirable criteria: Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes. Candidates who require a Skilled Worker visa to work in the United Kingdom can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship by assessing their circumstances against the criteria on GOV.UK. Environment and Benefits
The HPFT NHS Talking Therapies Team covers the Mid Essex area including Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon. You will work from one base and in community venues in your area.
