Graduate Teaching Assistant – Sunderland

We are recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a range of inclusive and high-performing secondary schools across Sunderland starting in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who are considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or youth support.
The role will involve supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, working closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions, assist with lesson delivery, and provide one-to-one or small group support for students with additional learning needs.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting pupils with academic and social development in class and in intervention sessions.
* Helping to deliver tailored support in subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
* Assisting with classroom management and contributing to a positive learning environment.
* Providing additional support to students with special educational needs.
We are looking for graduates who:
* Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
* Are genuinely interested in working with young people in a secondary school setting.
* Have strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and development.
* Have some previous experience working with children or young people in any setting (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, camps).
* Are considering a career in teaching, SEND support, or educational psychology.
