Machine Operator
Location: Skipton
Salary: GBP25,417 to GBP30,160 depending on skills and experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Weekly rotating shift pattern: 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, 2pm to 11pm Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 6pm Friday. While training, the hours will be 8am to 5:15pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm Friday.

What You Will Do
* Learn and operate machines in accordance with our Skills matrix.
* Die cutting, folding, gluing, laminating and printing.
* Inspect and manage the machine to its best ability to guarantee the production of high‑quality products.
* Understand various job needs by learning different job types, assessing the needs of each job and organizing job sequence.
* Maintain production quality by inspecting all produced materials carefully to identify any errors that might have occurred during production and correct them to prevent client dissatisfaction.
* Ensure equipment is always in good shape by taking preventive maintenance measures and following manufacturers' maintenance tips.
* When malfunctioning, take the equipment for repairs and liaise with the engineering team, also inquire about new maintenance and operation techniques.
* Inspect all equipment and materials to ensure that they are not in shortage and raise any issues with the production team leader.
* Operate machinery including die cutting, folding, gluing, laminating and printing.
* Set machines for a wide range of customer products, adjustments and tooling required to produce good quality products.
* Monitor and fine‑tune machine running speeds to make sure efficiencies are maintained consistently to achieve targets.
* Report to Team Leader and design team with any tooling damages or upgrades / replacements required.
* Perform weekly routine maintenance cleaning down machine following BRC hygiene requirements for product food safety, working with engineering team to grease and replace any worn parts.
* Learn and operate other process lines and machines when requested as part of the company’s training and development skills matrix.

* Die cutting operating experience advantageous.
* Folding gluing operating experience advantageous.
* Laminating and printing experience advantageous.
* BRC Food safety: HACCP understanding or experience advantageous (training will be given).
* Forklift driving advantageous due to multi‑skilled work available.
