A rare opportunity has come up to join our dynamic, supportive and friendly Community Therapies Team! We are looking for a full time Therapy Assistant to work within our community therapy teams based out of Fleet Hospital. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team supports patients with their ongoing rehab and long term condition management in their own home. Helping patients to reach their goals and optimise their independence.
You'll work mainly with Therapists but also alongside other health professions. We have a positive approach to development and value our staff, supporting regular training, supervision and appraisal. You'll manage a caseload with guidance and support non-clinical duties too.
Main duties of the job
* To work as a proactive member of the team providing a high quality, efficient and effective service to patients.
* To undertake delegated therapy treatment, rehab and patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered practitioner. Including exercise therapy, functional rehab and equipment provision and set up. To work within relevant legal and ethical frameworks and in accordance with organisational protocols and policies.
* To be proficient, knowledgeable and competent in the delivery of rehab and patient care.
* To be educated to an appropriate level and to continue to develop in the role through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge, and competences, to be determined by the needs of patients, the service and the team.
* To have a vehicle for use for work purposes and have business insurance.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English grade C or above. Relevant L2 qualification eg health and social care, rehab etc.
Desirable criteria
* L3 or above qualification in relevant subject.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Previous experience in health or care setting e.g. as an HCA, Community Support Worker or Therapy Assistant.
Desirable criteria
* Previous community experience. Experience of safe moving and handling. Previous Therapy Assistant experience. NHS experience.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Good communication skills to include concise and effective verbal and written reports.
* Able to work with minimal supervision.
* Good time management.
* Prioritisation skills.
* Confident computer skills e.g. word.
* Team player – understanding team dynamics.
Special Requirement
Essential criteria
* Car driver with full UK licence with access to a car for work purposes. Able to travel independently between peoples’ homes. Business insurance.
