Wrightbus Refurbishment supports Wrightbus as the fastest growing manufacturing company in Europe. We are therefore recruiting a Paint Sprayer Supervisor for the Bicester, Oxfordshire site. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead and supervise the paint spraying team in delivering high-quality finishes on Wrightbus vehicles, ensuring all work meets company standards, customer specifications, and production schedules. The supervisor will drive performance, maintain safety and compliance, and support continuous improvement across the paint shop.
The Role: Supervise daily operations of the paint spraying team, ensuring productivity and quality targets are met. Allocate tasks and manage workflow to align with production schedules. Conduct quality checks on completed work, ensuring adherence to paint specifications and finish standards. Train, mentor, and support paint sprayers to develop skills and maintain high performance. Monitor and enforce health & safety procedures, including PPE usage and safe handling of materials. Liaise with production planners and other supervisors to coordinate vehicle flow and resolve bottlenecks. Maintain accurate records of paint usage, job completion, and team performance. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve finish quality. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies regarding paint materials and disposal. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for paint-related defects or rework.
The Requirements: Proven experience in automotive or industrial paint spraying, ideally in a supervisory or team lead role. Strong understanding of paint application techniques, surface preparation, and finishing standards. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and paint specifications. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to paint spraying and chemical handling. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in basic IT systems (e.g., job tracking software, email, spreadsheets).
