This school is seeking an exceptional and passionate leader to join a senior leadership team as Inclusion Leader / SENCO / Assistant Headteacher. This is a vital strategic role for an individual committed to ensuring every pupil can thrive, regardless of need or background. You will lead on inclusion across the school, with a particular focus on SEND, SEMH, EAL, LAC, and vulnerable groups. As a member of the SLT, you will contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement, modelling excellence and championing the highest standards of provision and outcomes for all pupils. Beginning ASAP. Duties as Inclusion Leader/SENCO/AHT: Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice. Line manage and support teaching assistants, inclusion staff, and external support agencies. Oversee EHCP processes, referrals, assessments and annual reviews. Monitor and track the progress and attainment of SEND and vulnerable pupils. Promote inclusive classroom practice and provide high-impact professional development for staff. Work closely with pastoral leads, DSLs, and parents/carers to support pupil wellbeing. Develop and implement the school’s strategic vision for inclusion and accessibility. Contribute to whole-school leadership as a key member of SLT, supporting school improvement priorities. Ideal Inclusion Leader/SENCO/AHT: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be an experienced school leader. Hold or be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be willing to complete it). Demonstrate excellent knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive best practice. Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs. Be a strong communicator and team leader, with the ability to inspire staff and build positive partnerships with families.
