Purpose of the Role:
This is a fixed-term role, designed to address specific project needs and timelines, ensuring the successful delivery of key objectives over an 18-month period. The role will manage all technical and non-technical procurement activities related to non-F1 aspects of McLaren Racing’s business, including procurement of bespoke and proprietary parts, contract management, SLAs, KPIs, and supply chain management. Leading negotiations, resolving commercial issues, and maintaining stakeholder relationships are essential.
Role Dimensions:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the role involves:
* Delivering cost-effective sourcing and procurement for projects outside F1.
* Collaborating with project teams to meet requirements and strategic goals.
* Providing commercial benefits, contractual controls, and supplier relationship development.
* Supporting the Indirect Procurement team with various tasks, demonstrating professionalism and adaptability.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver program plans.
* Managing contract scope, costs, and service delivery.
* Developing and maintaining positive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes.
* Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring contractual adherence.
* Negotiating with suppliers to meet budget and standards.
* Constructing KPI targets with stakeholders.
* Improving processes for efficiency.
* Maintaining Contracts Register and managing renewals.
* Supporting purchase order development and general procurement duties.
* Performing additional tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Degree in Engineering or related field; professional qualification such as CIPS Level 4 or MCIPS preferred; or extensive experience in precision engineering or motorsport.
* Expertise in contract construction and publishing, manufacturing methods, and race car operations.
* Proven negotiation skills for large projects and contracts.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under workload peaks.
* End-to-end purchasing and supply chain management experience.
