Employee Relations Advisor
Location: Based in the North
Do you love Employee Relations and helping people?
We’re looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our collaborative and supportive HR team. In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring a high standard of service across our business.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Delivering a legally compliant, value-added advisory service to managers on all people management matters.
2. Supporting managers with HR activities, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, performance, and reward.
3. Advising on HR policies and procedures, with a strong understanding of employment law and best practices.
4. Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies and strategies.
5. Managing and responding to HR queries within the team.
6. Supporting organisational change initiatives, including TUPE transfers and redundancy consultations.
7. Monitoring and reporting on employee relations trends and case activity.
8. Maintaining accurate colleague data in HR and payroll systems.
9. Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
10. Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, learning and development, and offboarding.
11. Collaborating with the HR Leadership Team on key projects and initiatives.
12. Travelling to sites and branches as required.
What we’re looking for
13. Proven experience managing a wide range of employee relations casework.
14. Background in supporting a customer-facing, geographically dispersed workforce.
15. Experience preparing for and responding to Employment Tribunal cases.
16. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
17. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
18. Ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organisation.
19. High levels of resilience and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
20. Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
21. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
22. CIPD qualification (or working towards/willing to study).
