Whats the role?
As the Head of Global Payroll, you will coordinate payroll operations across multiple countries and regions. This involves executing a global payroll strategy, ensuring compliance with international payroll regulations, managing external payroll vendors, and optimizing payroll processes. The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of global payroll practices, and the ability to navigate complex payroll landscapes.
This full-time position is available from October 2025. The role can be based in Manchester, Paris, or Prague. Please specify your preferred location in your application.
What does the role involve?
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a global payroll strategy aligned with business objectives; support the development of a global payroll operating model with shared services.
* Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external payroll providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Compliance & Regulations: Ensure adherence to international payroll laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, finance, legal, and IT teams to streamline payroll processes.
* Project Management & Process Optimization: Drive efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across regions.
* Risk Management: Manage payroll controls, audits, and compliance checks effectively.
* Technology & Innovation: Lead payroll system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives.
* Employee Experience: Ensure operational excellence to deliver a consistent employee experience.
* Forecast Management: Monitor and control global payroll spend, ensuring operational efficiency and technological integration.
* People Leadership: Oversee talent management, people development, and career paths for payroll practitioners.

What you need is:
* Proven experience in global payroll leadership, including vendor and project management. Experience with payroll setup for shared service centres is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of international payroll regulations and compliance.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to coordinate and execute a global payroll strategy.
* Fluent English required; additional languages are advantageous.
