Job Title: Research Grant Manager
This role involves supporting research funding applications, managing grant submissions, and overseeing post-award activities for a specific customer base of research leaders.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead on managing all grant submissions for designated research institutes, ensuring compliance with external funding rules and institutional policies.
2. Provide expert advice on applications, develop project budgets, and assist in preparing proposals with attention to detail.
3. Manage the entire lifecycle of grants, including post-award administration, reporting, and ensuring contractual compliance.
4. Assess risks related to contractual terms and advise on mitigation strategies.
5. Coordinate with HR and Finance on contractual matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements such as Collaboration, Material Transfer, and Confidentiality Agreements.
6. Ensure sustainability of research projects through appropriate financial contributions and compliance.
7. Proactively address issues during project execution and facilitate sponsor interactions.
8. Prepare and submit reports to sponsors, ensuring deadlines are met.
Person Profile:
Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a science discipline; PhD or postgraduate qualification preferred.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven grant administration experience at a research institute or higher education institution.
* Successful track record of developing grant applications across various sponsors.
* Strong budgeting, negotiation, and contractual skills.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
