Join a well-established specialist contractor with over 40 years of expertise and take on a Quantity Surveyor role that blends technical know-how, client interaction, and the satisfaction of seeing your work come to life on site. This is a business that thrives on variety and practical problem-solving. One day you could be pricing a small residential job, and the next, major civil engineering works worth millions. It’s a fast-paced environment with a quick turnaround, where teamwork, communication, and adaptability are key. The client base ranges from homeowners to leading contractors across both building and civil engineering sectors, meaning you’ll never be short of variety or interesting conversations.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position that blends surveying and estimating with plenty of client interaction. You’ll handle incoming enquiries, prepare quotes using standard rates, and occasionally visit sites to scope out requirements. From there, you’ll liaise with the operations team to confirm availability of resources, follow up on quotes, manage variations, and handle invoicing or applications for payment on larger projects. You’ll have daily exposure to the business owners and leadership team, working closely together with the Commercial Director—who brings over 14 years of experience—and will provide ongoing valuable support and guidance throughout your role.
This opportunity will suit someone local, proactive, and versatile—someone who enjoys variety, thrives on pace, and values being part of a close-knit, experienced team with a reputation for getting the job done right. Whether you’re coming from a contractor, subcontractor, or a tier-1 main contractor role where you’ve perhaps become disillusioned, this is an opportunity to work closely with a dedicated leadership team that values your contribution.
