Your new role
Quarriers WHAT IF (Male) Service is recruiting 3 full-time Intensive Support Workers who have the skills to support young people in supported accommodation.
The WHAT IF (Male) team is looking for qualified individuals who will embrace their therapeutic role and provide appropriate re-nurturing and healing to young people with attachment issues and fear of rejection.
As an Intensive Support Worker, you will ensure that people's needs are met by building trusting relationships with the young men and helping them build self-esteem, which will enable them to move towards independence.
Working pattern: Quarriers offers 3 full-time, permanent contracts working 39 hours per week. You will work over an 8-week rolling rota with shifts of 8am - 4pm (Early Shift) and 2pm - 10pm (Late Shift), with 4 out of 8 weekends off.
What you will need to bring to the role
* Previous experience working with young people who have experienced homelessness, difficulties with alcohol/substances, emotional or mental health difficulties.
* Recognised Social Care Qualification SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
* Previous experience in housing support or a similar role.
* Compassion and empathy to support and listen to people who have experienced trauma in their childhood or young lives.
