Legal Office Manager | Doncaster | Full Time (Part-time considered) | Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm | £34,000–£40,000 DOE
Our client is a well-established, friendly and busy legal aid practice based in Doncaster. Operating under SRA regulation, they deliver high-quality legal aid and advice services with a strong focus on professionalism, compliance and teamwork.
They are now seeking a Legal Office Manager to oversee the firm's operations, compliance and administration. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the partners, develop your skills and play a key part in the ongoing growth of the practice.
What will your role look like?
Office & Practice Management
Manage daily office operations, including reception/front desk, post/DX/franking, office supplies and facilities
Oversee office support staff; manage cover for absences and coordinate staff onboarding
Liaise with external suppliers, including IT support, insurers, accountants and facilities providers
Coordinate diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and court/client appointments
Regulation & Compliance Oversight
Ensure compliance with SRA regulatory obligations
Assist with or manage compliance processes, file reviews, audits and maintain policies and procedures
Support governance, compliance monitoring and risk management activities
Administration & Support Services
Oversee general admin, including correspondence, mail, client file administration, archiving and billing support
Support HR duties such as recruitment coordination, personnel files, holiday and absence management and induction processes
Ensure health and safety compliance across the office
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Support
Help develop internal workflows, systems and operational structures
Act as a central point of contact for staff, suppliers and compliance-related queries

Essential Requirements
Experience working in a law firm or regulated professional services environment
Exposure to SRA compliance
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and professionalism
Confident using Microsoft Office and digital case-management systems
Ability to work independently and make decisions
Supervisory experience or readiness for management level of responsibility
Desirable Requirements
Criminal Legal Aid, Legal Aid or Criminal Law background advantageous
Experience with Dye & Durham case management systems
Experience liaising with IT providers, insurers and external suppliers
Background in HR or basic finance administration
Understanding of the Specialist Quality Mark and auditing processes
