Company Overview
Bournemouth Avionics Ltd is a family-run business based at Solent Airport, Lee-On-The-Solent. We are a CAA PART CAO approved maintenance organisation providing independent avionics services to the general aviation sector. Our work is focused on fixed-wing aircraft, and we specialise in the installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of avionics systems—working with leading brands such as Garmin, Avidyne, Trig, and more.
With a growing number of avionics installs carried out each year, we’re looking for the right person to join our close-knit team and help us continue delivering high-quality, reliable service to our customers.
The Role
We’re currently seeking a full-time Avionics Technician to join our team. The primary focus of this role is avionics installations, alongside general avionics work such as system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in avionics systems, but we are equally open to applicants who show strong interest, initiative, and a willingness to learn. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and test avionics systems and equipment (including Garmin, Avidyne, and Trig)
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in avionics systems on a range of general aviation aircraft
• Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and system modifications as required
• Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory standards
• Work collaboratively within a small, skilled team
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have experience in avionics systems—particularly in installation work—but we also welcome applicants who may not have direct experience but are eager to develop in the role. Full training and support will be provided.
We’re looking for someone with:
• A strong understanding of wiring diagrams and aircraft electrical systems (or willingness to learn)
• Diagnostic and repair skills (or the potential to develop them)
• An interest in general aviation and fixed-wing aircraft
• A practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail and quality
• The ability to work well within a team and take initiative
Why Join Us?
• Be part of a small, supportive team where your work has real impact
• Work on a variety of interesting avionics projects
• Enjoy a friendly, flexible, and professional environment
• Opportunity to grow with the business
• Support available for those working toward certifying qualifications, including help with gaining a B2 licence
