We have a requirement for a Linux Software Development Engineer to join our engineers' teams in Leicester working on UK integration of the most widely deployed Traffic Light Controller in the world.
What you will do
You will play a key role in the ongoing development of our software products, help maintain the highest quality and security standards, design new services and enhance existing ones and generally get to work on cutting edge systems development for the future of our urban environments.
1. To develop Linux software for a traffic light controller in the UK.
2. To co-develop supporting tools, primarily in Python.
3. Develop an understanding of regulations, market requirements and traffic control in the UK and turn that into actionable changes for a global product in a local market.
4. Implement, document and test software solutions using C++ and possibly GoLang and/or Python.
5. Design new applications and enhance existing ones.
6. Work with colleagues in an international environment
7. Daily work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices.
8. Interpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software development.
9. Maintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our systems.
10. Looking at improvements to the development process to maintain the leading-edge software development tools and techniques are used for continuous improvement.

11. 2:1 or better Degree in BSc Computer Science or equivalent
12. Working with Git code management and workflow processes
13. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
