Prospero Teaching is working with one of our high-achieving SEN schools located in Tower Hamlets. This is an all-through school that caters to students with Autism.
Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK, ideally in a SEND setting, however, the school are open to meeting with mainstream teachers, who have an interest in SEND. Each class has 8 students of varying abilities; therefore, it is imperative you are confident in planning inclusive, individualised lessons. There is also 1 experienced TA in the class depending on the student’s needs. They are looking for dynamic positive teachers. You will also be responsible for carrying out assessments and reporting progress to SLT.
The role:
1. Developing lesson plans that promote student growth and promote Independence
2. Collaborate with colleagues to monitor growth and progress of each student
3. Communicate with parents and keep them informed about the students’ development
4. Encouraging students to be independent
5. Reporting progress to SLT
6. Engaging with local community to support students
The candidate
7. QTS or equivalent combined with SEN experience
8. Experienced with needs including: ASD, PMLD
9. Innovative, passionate and pro-active
10. Ability to identify pupils needs and adapting activities to their level of comprehension
11. Experience in developing intuitive lessons plans and developing the curriculum
12. Proven track record of raising attainment in a complex environment.
