NHS Lanarkshire Cancer Nursing Service are seeking applications for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic registered nurses to join their Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist Team. Experienced registered nurses who are committed to providing quality evidence based cancer care with a personal commitment to life long learning aligned to the NES NMAHP framework and ACCEND, are welcomed to apply.
The role of the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist is highly specialised these positions provide cancer service across NHS Lanarkshire which comprises of three district general hospitals providing comprehensive person centred cancer care. Coordination of the complex care needs of people with Urological Caner (Prostate, Renal, Bladder, Testicular or Penile) across all stages of the patient’s pathway from diagnosis through treatment and follow up or end of life care, are key components of the posts. Organisational, time management and excellent communication skills are required.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Nurse NMC
2. Educated to Degree Level
3. Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards
4. Working knowledge of basic information technology
5. This may include non-medical prescribing where there is a requirement for this within the specialism and legal framework to enable this to occur
6. Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
8. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice
9. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
10. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
11. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
12. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Effective time management skills

14. Fundamentals of Cancer Care Module or Excellence in Prostate Cancer Treatment & Care.
15. Advanced Communication Skills / Training
16. Communication or Counselling Skills qualification / course
17. Commitment to lifelong learning and personal development plan.
18. Non Medical Prescribing Qualification (V300)
19. Advanced Clinical Assessment & Decision Making Qualification.
20. Accredited SACT course / module
21. Significant comprehensive post registration experience within relevant speciality
22. Experience of nurse led clinics
23. Experience of case management / case load holder.
24. Experience of working with MDT
25. Experience as a CNS
26. Experience of undertaking audit and research
27. Experience of prioritising work and managing competing demands.
28. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of national, regional and local cancer strategies / priorities
29. Be able to demonstrate knowledge of national, regional and local cancer strategies / priorities

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Cancer Services within University Hospital Monklands.
The working pattern for this role will be discussed at interview.
