The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to individuals in need, including those living with dementia and other health challenges. This role requires a strong commitment to person-centred care, supporting daily living activities, and promoting overall well-being in various care environments such as nursing homes, supported living, and hospice care. Duties Provide personal care and support to clients, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at all times. Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive adequate nutrition. Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours. Assist clients with mobility needs, including safe heavy lifting and use of mobility aids, while adhering to moving and handling protocols. Engage clients in meaningful and stimulating activities to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care, reporting changes in health or behaviour promptly to healthcare professionals. Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive and consistent care. Support clients in their daily routines, encouraging independence wherever possible. Requirements Previous experience in a similar care role is preferred, particularly in senior care, supported living, or hospice settings. Knowledge and understanding of dementia care practices are highly desirable. Ability to safely perform moving and handling tasks, including assisting clients with physical mobility challenges. Willingness to work flexibly across different care settings. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient, and respectful approach. A background in healthcare or nursing is advantageous but not essential. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
