Associate Director / Principal Engineer – Overhead Lines (OHL)
Location : UK Wide, flexible working, no set days in office.
Salary : Competitive + Car Allowance
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Principal Engineer to join its Transmission & Distribution team with a specific focus on OHL Design. This role offers the opportunity to work on major UK energy infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver overhead line design projects up to 400kV, including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag‑tension calculations, clearance reports and more.
* Provide technical expertise in bids, proposals, and client meetings.
* Manage project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement.
* Conduct feasibility studies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Review engineering deliverables and perform quality checks.
What We're Looking For
* Degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
* Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised institution (e.g., IET).
* Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators.
* Overhead line engineering experience up to 400kV.
* LCDAE & CDAE certifications advantageous.
* Strong communication skills.
