**Position:** Procurement Manager (Direct Hire)
**Location:** Stafford, VA
*Note: This is a direct hire opportunity. The start date will be determined based on the candidate’s fit and availability.*
We are seekinga highly organized, proactive, and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with U.S. defense procurement regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in defense or aerospace procurement, with expertise in cost management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:
* - Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to meet technical, quality, and cost requirements.
* - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize value.
* - Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term organizational goals.
Procurement Operations:
* - Oversee the complete procurement lifecycle, from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery tracking.
* - Collaborate with engineering, quality, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets.
* - Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Compliance & Documentation:
* - Ensure adherence to U.S. government procurement regulations (ITAR, FAR, DFARS).
* - Maintain accurate records, contracts, and audit-ready documentation.
* - Support internal and external audits related to procurement processes.
Process Improvement:
* - Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement processes, tools, and systems.
* - Implement best practices in sourcing, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
Transition from Development to Production:
* - Lead procurement efforts during product transition phases.
* - Ensure procurement strategies support scalability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.
Technical Support:
* - Interpret technical drawings, PCBA schematics, and engineering documentation to inform sourcing decisions.
* - Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and constraints.
Qualifications
* - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
* - 5–8 years of procurement experience, preferably within defense or aerospace industries.
* - Strong knowledge of U.S. government procurement regulations and compliance standards.
* - Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
* - Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Attributes
* - Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent.
* - Experience with international sourcing and export compliance regulations.
* - Proven success in supplier development and cost-saving initiatives.
